| Galvanizing Lines
The value of the zinc coating process in combating corrosion of the steel surface has grown to be a product feature demanded in ever-increasing quantities. The steel's corrosion resistance makes it ideal for applications such as air conditioning units, air ducts, metal ties, studs, siding, decking, roofing and culvert. CSI has two continuous galvanizing lines, with a total annual capacity of more than 550,000 tons. Galvanized sheet is produced by taking cold rolled coil from the 5-Stand Cold Reduction Mill, heating in an annealing furnace and dipping the coil, while still hot, into a pot of molten zinc. As the coil leaves the pot, coating controls insure product specifications match customer requirements. CSI offers the widest range of gauge and width sizes, ranging from .010" to .174" in thickness, and widths of 24" to 60".
